Eyes on the Dimple
Quiets early head turning toward the target; may help the low point stay put.
Head Stability
Use this if
Your head turns up before the strike.
The fault
The head turns up toward the target before the strike.
Steps
- Pick one dimple on the back of the ball
- Make slow half swings with your eyes on it
- Keep looking at the spot until after you hear contact
- Then let your head turn up with your chest
- Build to full swings at 70%
Eyes stay on the spot past contact
Reps
10 half swings, then 10 full swings at 70%
Why it works
Holding your eyes on one spot on the back of the ball until after contact keeps the head from turning early, which steadies the chest and the bottom of the swing. The head then turns naturally with the chest into the finish.
