Club-Across-Chest Turn
Trains a real chest turn that tilts, not an arm lift or a flat spin.
Shoulder Turn
Use this if
You lift the arms or turn flat.
The fault
Lifting the arms instead of turning the chest, or turning flat with level shoulders.
Steps
- Take posture and hold a club across your chest
- Turn back until your back faces the target, within comfort
- Lead shoulder turns down and across; chest stays over the ball
- Turn through to face the target, keeping your tilt
- Hit 5 balls at 70% with the same chest feel; a full turn, not a bigger one
Back to the target; chest over the ball
Reps
2 x 8 slow rehearsals, then 5 balls at 70%
Why it works
With no arms involved, the shaft across your chest shows exactly where your shoulders point. Turning until it crosses the target line, with the lead end tipping down toward the ball, trains a chest turn that keeps its tilt.
You need
Club, ball
At home
Works anywhere with no ball. Turn within comfort; a bigger turn is not the goal if your back objects.
