Side-Arm Throw Feel
A mimed side-arm throw teaches the hips to lead and the arm to come last.
Kinetic SequenceBody TurnSwing Path
Use this if
You throw from the top with the upper body.
The fault
An upper-body throw from the top with no lower-body lead.
Steps
- Stand side-on to the target with an empty trail hand
- Wind up, then step toward the target and mime a low side-arm throw
- Notice the hips open before the arm comes through
- Pick up a club and swing with the same order
Step, hips open, arm comes last
Reps
5 mimed throws, then 5 swings with a ball, 3 rounds
Why it works
A low side-arm throw naturally steps, opens the hips, keeps the arm low and releases last. Copying that feel into the swing borrows a sequence you already own.
You need
Club, ball
At home
Every throw is mimed: no ball leaves your hand at the range. Works anywhere with room to step.
