Split-Grip Speed Burst
Split your hands and make the shaft rattle at delivery to feel where speed is added.
Hand SpeedKinetic Sequence
Use this if
You add speed from the top, or not at all.
The fault
Adding speed at the wrong moment: from the top, or not at all.
Steps
- Grip a mid iron with the hands a few inches apart
- From the top, swing down smoothly to where the shaft is level
- Burst there so the shaft rattles, then swing through
- Take your normal grip and repeat the same timing
Speed starts when the shaft is level
Reps
5 split-grip rehearsals, then 5 normal-grip swings, 3 rounds
Why it works
With the hands apart, a burst of effort when the shaft is level in the downswing makes the shaft visibly rattle. That marks where to add speed once the grip is normal again.
