Headcover Under Trail Arm
A headcover under the trail armpit so the body turn, not a flying elbow, moves the club.
Body TurnSwing Path
Use this if
Your trail elbow flies or the lead arm chicken-wings.
The fault
Chicken wing or a flying trail elbow: the arms disconnect and the club comes over the top.
Steps
- Tuck a headcover under your trail armpit
- Make half swings, keeping it pinned going back
- Turn through; it should only drop after the ball
- Build to three-quarter swings, then hit 5 full swings without it
Turn the chest, keep the cover
Reps
3 x 8 half swings with the cover, then 5 full swings without it
Why it works
The headcover only stays put if the trail arm stays in front of the chest while the body turns. That ties the arms to the turn going back and coming down, which tends to bring the club from the inside.
You need
Headcover, club, ball
At home
A small towel works the same way. The cover can drop after impact; that's fine.
