Pull the Grip Through
Hands lead and the lead wrist stays flat so the shaft leans forward instead of flipping.
Wrist Action
Use this if
You flip or scoop at impact.
The fault
Flipping or scooping at impact: lead wrist cups and the club head passes the hands.
Steps
- Address with the hands slightly forward, level with the lead thigh
- Swing to hip height and pause
- Move slowly to impact feeling the grip end pull toward the target
- Stop at the ball and check: hands ahead, lead wrist flat
- Then let it release after the ball; don't hold the handle past your lead thigh
Pull the grip toward the target
Reps
5 slow stop-at-impact rehearsals, then 10 balls with a 7-iron at about 70%
Why it works
Feeling the grip end pulled toward the target keeps the hands moving ahead of the club head into impact, so the lead wrist stays flat and the shaft leans forward.
