Speed Ladder: the model golfer in position

Speed Ladder

Climb from 30% to full effort, moving up only while strike and balance hold.

Use this if

You swing flat out and lose the strike.

The fault

Going at it flat out every swing and losing rhythm, balance and strike.

Steps

  1. Hit a ball at about 30% effort and hold the finish
  2. If the strike was solid, go to 50%, then 75%
  3. At full effort keep the same rhythm; don't lunge
  4. A poor strike or lost balance: drop a rung
  5. Finish with 3 balls at your top controlled effort

Only climb when the strike holds

Reps

One ball per rung, climb and drop for 15-20 balls, end with 3 at top controlled effort

Why it works

Adding effort in steps, and only after a solid strike, shows you how much speed you can use while still holding your rhythm and finish. A poor strike sends you down a rung.
